The Indian Air Force 'mistakenly' dropped explosives on its own city

The 'air store' that crashed at the Pokhara firing range was the result of a technical error, the Indian Air Force said.

In Rajasthan's Pokhara region, the Indian Air Force accidentally dropped explosives on its own city. This incident is from Jaisalmer district. No one was reported killed or injured in the blast.

Shankar Lal, in-charge of Ramdeora police station, said that the explosive material dropped by an Indian Air Force fighter jet exploded outside a village at the Pokhran firing range.

Explosives dropped by any fighter aircraft are termed as air stores. In a post on social media platform X, the Indian Air Force said that the air store collapse was the result of a technical glitch.

Pokhara Firing Range is located in the Thar Desert. This uninhabited area is used by the Indian Army for testing and firing practice of various weapons.
