Shahrukh khan incoming movies 2025,2026,2027

How are the nostalgic hits of yesteryear making a comeback in Indian cinema?

When year-old Zakia Rafiqi heard that the 2018 Bollywood film Laila Majnu was being re-released in cinemas this month, she knew she would watch the film again.

He says that in the year 2018, only a few people were present in the cinema to watch this film, but this time more people than ever were present in the cinema hall to watch this film.

Zakia Rafiqi, who went to watch the film with her sister in a cinema in New Delhi, says that many people were laughing and shouting while watching the film.

Zakia Rafiqi says she has an emotional attachment to the film, which is based on a love story in Indian-administered Kashmir, perhaps because she herself hails from Indian-administered Kashmir.

He says it was great to see a part of his home on a big screen. When they were passing through the streets of Kashmir, you felt like you were there too.

The story of Laila movie is by the famous filmmaker Imtiaz Ali. When the film was first released, it barely created a sensation at the box office, but on its re-release, the film did good business.

It is one of dozens of Indian films, some made more than two decades ago, that are getting new recognition now that people are watching them in cinemas.

Due to the corona virus, when cinemas stopped for several months, India's film industry, like the rest of the world, saw ups and downs. During this period, a large number of people turned to streaming services to watch movies.

So far, people have not returned to their normal lives.

Analyst says that this year has proved to be bad for new Bollywood films.

Bollywood is dominated by more Hindi films. New Bollywood movies are coming out regularly now, but it is common to hear people saying that instead of going to the cinema, we would rather watch the movie on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video after a while.

Some films are still being watched in cinemas. A Hindi 'horror-comedy' film Sutri Two is currently in theaters with a business of four billion rupees. It has become India's highest-grossing film domestically so far.

Overall, it was the second highest-grossing film after Kalki 2898 AD, which starred India's biggest stars.

This year has seen highly anticipated films with big stars at the box office, showing a rare bright side of the industry.

There is no doubt that the Indian film industry is witnessing a constant change with the change in movie viewing habits. The top 10 films so far this year include three films from the southern state of Kerala, where budgets are relatively low.

So it is not surprising that both 'distributors' and 'viewers' of the film are finding their ease.

A glance at the list of re-released films reveals that there is no clear formula behind the selection of these films.

The films that Bollywood has released this year belong to different generations. The 90s seem to be a favorite decade in this with love story romances 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' and 'Hum Aap Ke Hain Koon' and action films 'Main Khiladi To Anadi'. And 'Baazigar' was also re-released.

Analysts say that Laila Majna's success was a big surprise. The filmmakers say they are especially happy that audiences in Indian-administered Kashmir will now be able to see the film in cinemas, where cinema halls will open in 2022 after more than two decades.

Komal Nahata says that the film has just recovered or reduced its losses, which is a message for others to see if they too can make a profit by re-releasing their old films. .

Taran Adarsh, a Bollywood analyst, says these re-releases are making up for the lack of new films and poor performance at the box office.

According to him, re-releases have little or no promotion. The posters only appear on ticket booking sites or circulate on social media. These are watched purely because of nostalgia or the audience's love for such a film.
